Susan Pease Gadoua is the co-author of, The New I Do, Reshaping Marriage for Skeptics, Realists and Rebels (Seal Press, 2014). She is the author of the San Francisco Chronicle best-seller, Contemplating Divorce, A Step-by-Step Guide to Deciding Whether to Stay or Go (New Harbinger, 2008), and Stronger Day by Day, Reflections for Healing and Rebuilding After Divorce (New Harbinger, 2010).
Susan is a licensed therapist based in the San Francisco Bay Area with an expertise in helping couples connect, reconnect or disconnect in a healthy way. In 2006, Susan began helping couples shape what became known as the Parenting Marriage. Since then, Susan has helped dozens of couples transition their marriage from a love-based union to one in which raising happy, healthy kids is the primary focus.
Susan has appeared on television, radio and in print, including The CBS Early Show and A View From the Bay, and publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Daily Mail, Psychology Today, Divorce Magazine, Divorce360, The ModernWoman’s Divorce Guide and Responsible Divorce. In addition to her writing and local private practice, Susan provides client consultations via Skype or phone. She also trains therapists in implementing Parenting Marriages with their clients as well as teaching therapists about divorce using the program she developed, Phoenix Method of Divorce Recovery TM. Susan is available to speak at conferences and symposiums regarding The Evolution of Marriage, Parenting Marriages, as well as on the topics of Contemplating Divorce, Emotional Divorce and Divorce Recovery.
